From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men
May Christ return to Earth.
From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the center which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power
restore the Plan on Earth.

The Great Invocation belongs to all humanity and not to any one religion or
group. It is a world prayer, translated into more than 75 languages and
dialects. The Great Invocation is based on truths common to all major
religions and is used daily by millions of people all over the world.

To use the Great Invocation is world service for it is an instrument of
power in the manifestation of the Plan of God on earth. It speaks directly
to world need today. We need light to illumine the way ahead and reveal the
vision of a new civilization; we need love to govern the relationships
between people and bring to an end the reign of hatred and separatism; we
need the power of the will-to-good to direct human choice and decision
making.
By means of invocation, prayer & meditation divine energies can be released
and brought into activity. Men and women of goodwill of many faiths and
nations can join together in world service, bringing spiritual value &
strength to a troubled world. Men & women have the power, through focused,
united invocation, to affect world events. Knowledge of this fact,
scientifically applied, can be one of the great liberating factors within
humanity.
No one can use this Invocation or prayer for illumination and for love
without causing powerful changes in attitudes and life intention.
It is sponsored by no group or sect. We urge you to use it and encourage
others to do so on behalf of humanity.
The Tibetan himself makes several references to the Great Invocation. "The
beauty and the strength of this Invocation lie in its simplicity, and in its
expression of certain central truths..." [The Externalisation of the
Hierarchy, Lucis Trust, 1957.] "The Great Invocation relates the will of
the
Father, the love of the Hierarchy, and the service of Humanity into one
great Triangle of Energies; this triangle will have two major results: the
'sealing of the door where evil dwells,' and the working out through the
Power of God, let loose on earth through the Invocation, of the Plan or Love
and Light." [The Rays and the Initiations, Lucis Trust, 1969].
Many others have commented on its beauty and significance. Interested
individuals are referred particularly to the book by John Berges: Sacred
Vessel of the Mysteries. Planetwork Press, 1997. One of Berges' comments
is: "The vision offered us by this glimpse into the energy field of the
Great Invocation drives home the esoteric fact that we are fully engaged and
immersed in a Plan of cosmic proportions. This Plan encompasses Beings
Whose Lives are lived at levels of consciousness beyond our human
comprehension... "
The wording of the Invocation reflects common usage in the 1940s. Also the
words have been chosen carefully to preserve important numerological
information and mantric power. Terms which might appear to us as
gender-specific should not be interpreted in an exclusive sense. Rather,
man should recall the Sanskrit word manas, which means "mind" or, in
the
present context, "one blessed with mind." Note also that The Christ,
referred to in the Great Invocation, is more than the historical figure from
2000 years ago or the founder of the Christian religion. The Christ is the
eternal embodiment of cosmic love and the World Teacher of all religions.
